Mrs. Rose KE, Mattes, 93, an&lt;br /&gt;
area early settler, died today in&lt;br /&gt;
a nursing home here.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
A Kentucky native, she had&lt;br /&gt;
settled in Harrington, Wash, in&lt;br /&gt;
1902. Following her marriage to&lt;br /&gt;
the late Howard Joseph Mattes,&lt;br /&gt;
a lumberman, the couple lived&lt;br /&gt;
in Reardan until 1926 when they&lt;br /&gt;
moved to Spokane.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Here Mr, Mattes built and operated&lt;br /&gt;
several business buildings.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Mrs. Mattes was a member of&lt;br /&gt;
Manito Presbyterian Church.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Surviving are two daughters,&lt;br /&gt;
Mrs. E. J. (Marjorie) Crosby,&lt;br /&gt;
and Mrs. R. E. (Helen) Wert,&lt;br /&gt;
both of Spokane and two grandsons.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The body is at Hazen &amp;amp; Jaeger’s.&lt;br /&gt;
