date with Dick and Leo. Once again calamity calls—Cornelia awakens on the morning of their date with Dick and Leo only to find a swelling on her lip. Emily discovers the cause, bedbugs. Only seconds after this discovery, Mr. and Mrs. Skinner, who have just arrived in Paris, drop in to see how the girls are getting along. Then to make things worse, the boys arrive to take the girls out to lunch. Finally everything is straightened out and in the end Cornelia and Emily are very reluctant to depart, despite all the calamities and tears of the summer trip.

Junior-Senior Prom
Our next class activity was the Junior-Senior Prom on Saturday, April 27. We chose for our theme “Club ‘58” featuring the Starlight Room. A great deal of time, effort and planning went into transforming the High School gym into Reardan’s most fashionable nightclub—Club ‘58, The many silver stars hanging from the cloud-decked sky and the use of colored lights made this prom most attractive. At eleven o’clock our dance band, the Cheney Orchestra, played the Grand March. At its conclusion, Bill Hein and Karol Kelso were crowned King and Queen of the Prom. Refreshments were then served.
The program for the banquet follows:
